GLOCAL LATAM at World Agri-Tech South America Summit

Last week, GLOCAL LATAM participated in the World Agri-Tech South America Summit in Sรฃo Paulo, a leading event for the region’s AgriFoodTech ecosystem. Partner & CFO Beatriz Ponce de Leรณn spoke on the panel “Driving AgTech Innovation: Unlocking Investment for Growth and Impact”, while Managing Partner Bernardo Milesy led a roundtable on “The Future of AgriFoodTech Investing.” Venture Partner Vรญctor Favaro also joined, engaging with founders and key industry players throughout the event.

๐Ÿ’ก Beatriz shared the panel with Orlando Cintra (Founder and CEO of BR Angels), Flavio Zaclis (Founder of Barn), Tom Greene (Sr Director, Global Leader, Corteva Catalyst External Innovation Investment, R&D,) and Ariadne Caballero (Partner of SP venture). Just months ahead of COP30 in Belรฉm, the panel discussed how South America can capitalize on global attention to attract increased investment in agtech, amid a challenging context marked by a general decline in funding. Key topics included the barriers to accessing capital, strategies to reduce risk for high-impact startups, and the agtech sectors with the greatest potential for growth and return. The session featured several startups, enabling a valuable exchange grounded in real-world experience.

Meanwhile, Bernardo participated in a roundtable where he shared insights from the Clean AgriFoodTech Playbook, sparking a critical conversation about the difficulties many companies face in securing a second round of financing, specifically between the seed stage and Series A.
